Spotlight Theatre
Spotlight Theatre is Collin County’s first and only premier theatre, presenting full-length plays, musicals, late-night adult comedy shows, variety shows, live music, gospel shows and family comedy shows. Show only tickets are $20 all days except Saturday. Saturday matinee is $17, Saturday show only is $25, Saturday dinner and show is $40. Reservations are now being taken. Allen Civic Ballet
Established in 1999, the Allen Civic Ballet is a non-profit, 501c(3) dance company whose purpose is to offer the citizens of Allen and surrounding communities affordable, enjoyable dance productions while providing valuable experience to young dancers considering a career in the profession. The Ballet produces a family-friendly version of the holiday favorite “Nutcracker” each December, and they host and perform in the “Allen Dance Festival” each spring. In addition, the company performs at other programs such as the “Classical Ballet Festival” and “Dance for the Planet” to name a few. The Allen Civic Ballet is open by audition each season to all dancers ages 12-21. Allen Civic Ballet dancers have auditioned and been accepted for summer study at the schools of the San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, the Boston Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet among others. Allen Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra
Under the leadership of Maestro Richard Gianguilio, the symphony is celebrating its 11-year anniversary during the 2008-2009 concert season.The Allen Symphony Chorus was established in 2001 and continues to provide singers from Allen and the surrounding communities with a non-audition opportunity to perform a diverse repertoire to the highest standards. Directed by Mike Buntyn, the chorus has collaborated with a variety of area choirs and choruses, including the North Central Texas Chorale, the Plano Civic Chorus and the Allen Independent School District Honor Choirs. The Allen Philharmonic now offers Program Notes on our website where you can discover the experiences and ideas that influenced each composer whose works we will perform this season. Tickets are reasonably priced and offer the option to select the entire season or individual concerts. All concerts begin at 8 p.m. and are performed at First United Methodist Church of Allen, except Do You Hear What I Hear…, this will be performed at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church.
